Finally got some free time to get my boat and myself out on the water.

Left Ft Monroe about 09:30 and caught the last of the outgoing tide. Hit my traditional haunts of around the tube, between the two fishing piers, around the crab pots on the bay side of the Fort and made several drifts around the NOB side of the bridge (between the pilings).

Water temp was around 55 degrees in most places, almost flat calm to start with a nice ripple when I finally quite with a outgoing tide (around 03:00 PMish).

Took a couple of 6.5' ugly sticks with Penn 450SSG and 15lb line. Used (depending on tide speed) 2oz-4oz egg drop sinkers to hold my bottom rig (One with 2 Bull Minnows) (One with squid) on the bottom as I mucked about trying to mark fish.

Drift speed was anywheres from .5 to 2.3 knots.

Other than alot of weeds, 1 orange rock and 1 crap pot (my aplogies to the guy who owns that as I broke my line) nada. Not even one bite.

All in all, it was great fun. Spent the day on the water alone (don't get to do that much), rang out the new changes to my boat (re-organized things) and got the ole Angler up to 40 knots there for a bit (normally putz around at about 25 knots) and made it home safe.

My guess is that it was the bananna pancakes for breakfast that put the skunk on. Here's hoping I loose that critter soon and that the rest of the fishing season is a safe and fun one everyone this year. biggrin.gif
