Fished 6/16 with two coworkers who had never fished saltwater before. Started at 1st and 2nd islands in morning. Several throwbacks with 1 keeper. Both partners trying to learn to set the hook at right time skunked so far. They began to realize that flounder don't bite like anything else that swims. Moved to channel between 3rd and 4th islands. Found fish in afternoon on oceanside just past tube. Partners started to figure out when to set the hook. Managed ten keepers in last 90 minutes before winds came up too much for my little skiff. Five between 20" and 23.5". Only 2 16.5" fish. Great day and at least one more trying to convince his wife that he too needs a boat! Fish were biting pink skirted rigs the best. Especially those rigged with a minnow and bluefish belly vs. squid strips. Hope all hook up this weekend and enjoy for those of us who work the next 7 days.

Sounds like you had a great day. We were debating on whether to go to the 4th but decided against it. We did good at the 1st and inside the Inlet, but only came back with 8. We usually manage to limit out, but most of our spots only produced shorties this time.
