Had the pleasure of OI Captain Brian Horsley and DOC Peeler from Annapolis MD. on my boat Friday to show them some jigging techniques. We went to the SE Rock to start the day and it was covered up with green stickers but no tuna we did manage multiple reef donkeys and Alberts before i made the move to a new area i had marked on a previous trip but had not fished. We stopped and dropped and limited on tiles in less than hour. Moved off to the grouper grounds but there was way to much down current to control the drift so we nudged on back to the seabass rocks and quickly boxed 14 knotty heads up to 5lbs headed back to the 230 rocks where we found black fins busting bait on top i quickly threw a frenzy popper and had two explode on it one coming tight 3 minutes later Capt Horsley sunk the gaff and put him in the kill box i gave him about 10 minutes to chill out and reached in to release the lure and he came alive sinking a 3 prong shank deep in my hand. OUCH! DOC Peeler went to work with his VAN STAHL pliers and we had the hook out in ten minutes. DUMB ASS MOVE MIKE!WE ended the trip with Tiles/seabass/3 gaffers/silver snapper/ and one Blackfin tuna.Caught numerous fish all day and had great company. Capt FAT BEARD your next. CONCH.
