Fished yesterday out of OI. Good gaffer and yellowfin action between 760 and 780 lines -100 fathoms and out deep.
We had 1 YFT - lost another good one at the back and several through-backs. Got several nice gaffers also - 1 of them - 20 lbs.
best bite in 72-73 degrees - in the afternoon.
Will be back Sat if it doesn't blow.

Good luck down there. Talked to another private boat at PC - that had 3 YFT and 6gaffers on the line 450 line so I think the bite is pretty good.
Boy, it got hot in the afternoon yesterday for about an hour. The charters had 6 gaffers on at once several times. We had multiples twice but certainly not 6.

Kent, good to see Waterdog in the game. Down here the boats running out of Morehead City have been absolutely hammering the gaffers. That's a whole lotta dolphin salad! Those fish should be heading up towards Hatteras real soon, so hopefully the mahi catch rate will explode shortly.

Good luck. Hope the weather holds... they keep changing it so we're skipping this weekend . Bumpy or not, tell us it was so I'll feel better about canceling.
