Quick report....I'm very tired..just got done cleaning and vacuum packing about 300 pounds of Mahi.....we had 17 Mahi, all big gaffers and 1 Yellow Fin tuna in the box by 1030....at 1030 we surveyed the ice situation and decided we didn't have enough Ice to keep the fish fresh and cold to my standards...so we pulled lines and reluctantly headed in.....loaded the boat and discovered a broken Hub on the 3rd wheel on my trailer...called around to all the shops that might be open to see if they had a 6 lug Hub...no joy...so we took off the back tire and hub, chained the Axle up so it wouldn't drag and drove the 100 miles to My house at 40MPH....I backed up some traffic today...
The bite was really good at the 630 - 660 in the deep, over 500 fathoms for us today.....Bob

I've been reading reports of great catches of mahi early in Fla, then SC. Glad to here you got on the fish now that there off NC. You were due a good day of fishing. Sorry your problems didn't stop at the ice. Thats a problem we would like to have!

The fishing yesterday couldn't be beat. We could never get a full spread out. The mahi were coming so often that I couldn't even drink a beer. I decided to take a break. I looked in the cooler and saw a bottle of BANANA BOAT SUNTAN OIL !!
I IMMEDIATELY Jetisoned the offending item overboard! But it was too late..............first the ice..........and then the hub.
Thanks for taking me fishing Bob.

We saw you guys running in on Sat and were wondering where you were going, if you had some hot bite location info or what... Yeah no sense in letting all those fish go south, even if you gotta pack up early because of ice issues..... And Man I have been quickly realizing the value of a good ice machine..
Look at it this way.... Good thing you did run out of ICE cause I'm sure it would of sucked even more if you got back to the ramp after a full day of fishing and then discovered the broken hub....
Man I sure hope you guys got all the bugs worked out for next week's tourney.... Good thing you had a few practice runs to shake em out before then....
Well be there next year... Getting the $$$ straight this year.. That chit ain't cheap.. If were gonna do it were gonna enter across the board... We gotta a little more fine tuning to do before we make that investment..
What a weekend out there.. We did OI Sat, and HI Sun.. Pretty WX and LOTS of fish!
Good luck in the Tourney guys!!! Give em hell!!

Nice job Bob and crew...even Otter! The mahi action is off the chain right now...that might win you the outboard division again this year in the PC Tuna Tourney!

WTG. Lots of luck in the tourney. I always believed that the more skill you have the luckier you get. And from all the reports I've seen, Team Still Thinkin is very skillful. Tight lines.

Sweet! Keep a spare hub on your spare wheel and tire. I didn't for years but do know. Sorry we missed you but used Broad Creek to avoid the crowd.
