After an extended stay in the boat yard and some literally last minute 'put back together' we got Billable Ours down to Pirate's Cove and ready for our fishing weekend. Saturday we had our 1st charter of the season that included Scott Brich and frineds from the board. Headed to the 600 line and set down on a temo break. For the first hour and a half to two hours, I couldn't get the entire spread out due to gaffer mahi in the spread. We caught 6 mahi averaging around 20 pounds, with a couple of bulls nearing 25. Every one except one was caught on Purple/black Get Reel 'Shooters'. We had blue and white Islanders, blue/pink Shooters, and other out, but all they wanted Saturday was Purple and black. Fished the 600 to the 640 along the 200-250' contour. Water temps were around 76-77 degrees.

Sunday was a fun fishing day. We went a little north to the 650-670 lines and got 4 more nice mahi along with our first yellowfin of the year. This was also Dave's first fish he's angled since his heart surgery...he did awesome!! Heading back down Wednesday to get ready for this weekend and all next week of fishing!!

Sweet! Pretty work on the Mahi and it's great to see the Colonel back at the helm and I'm glad to see Don getting some wheel time. Time for that guy to get his license. Hmmmm, a Colonel that is also a Captain. Should we be calling him Captain Colonel? And did we just invent a new rank? Didn't I see this on an episode of MASH many years ago? LOL!

yep...Radar was given the rank of Corporal Captain!!! When I get my license, I won't ask that you all call me Capt Don...just Capt will be fine!!! LOL!!

That does have a certain "RING" to it!!

Happy to hear that Billable is on the fish again. Especially happy to hear that Dave has recovered sufficiently to get on rod and reel. Catch em up guys.
