When they are biting!
I'm not one to fish for sharks, but they seem to follow me around. I would suggest any popular spot near the mouth of the bay, put some meat on the bottom, bingo - shark!
I caught about a four foot hammerhead on Saturday, his head was roughly 14 inches. The knockdown and initial run were plenty hard enough that I was sure it was a fish. That was pretty cool. I let him keep the lip jewelry.

The time is now till around mid september. they come into the bbay to breed and have a closed season until July 15th then they are fair game. Your choice of baits should depend on the area, size, and type of sharks that you are attempting to catch. If you attempting to harvest one having a few experanced people to subdue it being that they have to be over 54" and can be an handful do deal with gut and cool to preserve the meat.
