Just got back home after a week in Hatteras and the weekend in VB. Hatteras found plenty of flounder though most of them small. Got enough to eat on and a few fillets in the freezer but nothing to brag on although I did get Tony (BigBluefins) out on our boat for a change. We had a great time but had a very slow time fishing and with nothing in the box. Came back to VB on thursday afternoon, stayed in on friday with the rain, fished lynhaven on saturday with no fish in the box, only excitement other than dinks was a big skate near the turning basin. Sunday we had to leave but managed a few hours out, ran to the east side rocks of the 1st, had no drift so 'power drifted' and started picking up 16-18.5 inch fish, but slow. Fished with small croaker, tube squid strips, various Gulp! products and every fish came on 4"natural shrimp Gulp! baits. Fishing picked up with the tide and managed a pair of 20's for the box. A bass boat picked up a 23 in the same area casting croaker to the rocks. Other than 2 skates and a hadful of small croaker, that was it but a nice although short day on the water.

Click to view attachmentMake that a 19.5 and a 19.75, off the ice. Looks like more difference than that in the pic

Nice fish!!! We ended up fishing off the bulkhead inside rudee inlet this weekend, and caught a few nice drum. Sat was mostly just croaker, but for some reason yesterday afternoon/evening we had good success on the drum. Nothing huge, but 7 nice fish from 21 to the biggest being 37 inches.
Flounder have been rather solw this year for some reason, but you got 2 nice ones at least!
