While searching Murphy's Pub website and followning links, I found this petition at the Virginia Beach Fishing Center website. Y'all may want to register your opinions, I did. My comments follow:
The current striper population has recovered to the point that it is no longer necessary to restrict recreational fishing to the 3-mile limit and should now be allowed in federal waters. Past regulations successfully allowed the striper population to recover extremely well. Please allow these relaxed restrictions. Many of us travel distances and spend considerable funds on winter rockfishing in particular. It is disappointing to sit on the 3 mile line and see large schools working the water within sight and go home with a skunk. I believe it is time for this action.
Go to http://www.virginiafishing.com/default.htm to register your opinion. This regulation only considers relaxing the 3 mile limit to 12 miles and does not propose a change in size, bag or season restrictions. The poll is below this month's current pics.
