Has anyone ever had any experiencing catching mullet, spot, croaker, etc. in a cast net around the Cape Charles or Bayford area? Is it too early for mullet?

I appreciate any help that can be given. We only make the 5 hour trip a couple times a year and it's kinda hard to find the bait when it changes every time we go.

Thanks

You have to catch them in shallow water because they are fast enough to out swim the net. Try up in creeks and along shallow edges. also try putting bait out where you are going to through the net. Canned cat food in fish flaver works well just open the lid slightly or the minnows will eat all the food quickly. Hope this helps
