Cool Change
I just looked at OI's report of 3 feet on Sunday and Monday. It was updated at 3:14pm today. It looked crappy all week but now looks good. I wish things could be more accurate as we tow "Cool Change" 300 miles one way just to fish. We want to make the adventure happen this weekend BAD!

We need to get someone on here with an unbiased report that's a local expert on the OBX weather. Does anyone have a local hookup with the best meteorologist that this site could give a free Gold Subscription to for their advertising spot? Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Thanks to all VBSF subcribers for all you give us mountain boys,

Steve

I hoping to get out this weekend, but I am not liking the offshore forecast. We'll see what NOAA brings on friday's, and bounce everything off intellicast and the Navy wave charts, before I cancel out.

The Volunteer is staying in port this weekend, for sure.

I REALLY wanted to go but just pulled the plug. I guess its inshore again for me.

Was just looking for VB area off shore sunday waves 3-5 bouy 64 mile off 2-3 wave height I was looking forward to getting out Sunday, water is really heating up to the north. If it to bad off shore I'll probably do something inshore.

where do you find the Navy wave charts? I googled it, but not real clear what site to go to.

Bob I clicked on that URL for the Navy site and got rejected.

Saturday looks to be a wash but we were planing on towing all day Sat. and fishing on Sunday and Monday and towing home on Tues.

As of 9:15 pm this eve OI's weather says:

Sun. SW 10 - 15 kt 3' - 5'
Mon. S 5 - 10 kt 3'

With everyone scared am I missing something here? To me it looks doable in a 27' twin engine rig.

I think you'll be fine. I made my decision earlier in the week when forecast was bad, so I don't have a crew lined up. Sunday in VA waters looks pretty good now, if you get weather to match the forecast.

Volunteer ... and everyone ...

Yeah, the forecasts for VB have me a little "on the fence" right now. Land forecasts are for 5-10 out of the West (what I consider "doable" on my boat) on Saturday morning following a good blow tonight; water forecast is for W 10-15 (for which I'd probably elect to stay in). Sunday actually looks a little worse if I judge off of wind direction, which is pegged as a Northerly. Navy site update is 4-6 ft ... also what I'd say is an "on the fence" data point.

What's everyone think of this weekend off Va Beach? Saturday? Sunday?

Thanks.

Cool Change
Cool Change is pulling out around 9;30 am for the 6 1/2 hour tow. We will be at Fins & Feathers on Sunday and Monday nights. Dare Haven tomorrow night fishing out of Broad Creek. Please feel free to stop by, say HI, and have a beverage on me.
