What a beautiful day on the water, but sure was a long day. Had Larry, Jim, Sean and Rich from this board ride down with me to bring the boat back. I can tell you the ride down in the AM was very interesting listening to the stories between Larry, Jim and Sean.
Got underway and headed for Pirates Cove for some fuel and ice and got underway. Knowing fishing has been slow I had a plan to go AJ fishing, then Tile fishing and then head to the 800 line to troll North. We arrive and find the AJ's, GAME ON! We blistered them and was fun watching the guys hooting and hollering with all three rods bent over on every drop. After everyone caught 6 or 7 AJ's we moved on to some tile holes. I am sorry to say what used to be tile holes. We scrap out 7 or 8 tiles after checking 7 or 8 different spots. The commercial fishing of this species is going crazy. I saw 5 commercial boats fishing for them from the 700 to the 850 lines. Picked up and started trolling on the 800 line to the 870 with nothing. Run up to the 040 and lines in at 1:45 PM. Hear there was some fish seen from here to the 250 line north of us, but was tired of running. We trolled and missed a flat line bite, then pulled a nice gaffer off and missed another bite on the left long. Saw some serious bait marks with some being suspended but had little time to work them. Picked up at 4:00 and headed in.
Guys were happy with some nice AJ and Tilefish pullage and meat.

Yes, my opinion is that it is only just a matter of time and the tilefish will be heavily restricted because of all the attention they are getting.
They are as of July 29th the reg s are:
3 fish per person Grouper Aggregate (meaning)
Grouper Aggregate: Misty Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp, Tiger Grouper, Yellowedge Group, Yellowfin Grouper, Blueline Tile, Sand Tile, Coney, graysby, red hind and rock hind. Snowy grouper and Golden Tilefish are also in the Grouper Aggregate with a max of 1 per person for each species.
So that means only 3 fish of these species can be kept with Snowy and goldens only one of the three can be one of these.
