I know a lot of people are shaking their heads about a croaker charter, but let me 'splain it to ya. Down here in SE NC and NE SC croaker fishing in Virginia is wildly popular. There is no equivilent ground fish species to the croaker in this area. Easy for the kids to catch, no catch limits, fights like a big dog (insert your favorite Michael Vick joke here) and tastes great grilled, baked or fried. The croaker is definately the most family friendly fish in the mid-atlantic area. I was talking to an old salt up in Sealevel (near the Cedar Island ferry) one day this spring and he referred to two fish as Virginia fish - the Virginia Croaker because that's where everyone goes to catch them and the Virginia Mullet (sea mullet in Hatteras, roundhead in Ocean View) because they eat everything in sight and leave nothing untouched in their wake, just like Virginians. So I did what any self respecting Virginia native would do - kicked his ass and ate his box lunch. The softshell was mushy but the blueberry pie was awesome! LOL!

Netman,
Give Captain Todd (Knot Wish'n) a shout. He'll customize a trip for your group....much more fun than going on a headboat full of strangers.

Wow! Didn't know Croaker Charters were this popular. VBSF has been a great help with our venture into salt water fishing over the last year and a half. Thanks to all for the help as I will pass on this info for the guys to put together a trip.
