I've been breaking in the new engine with two hour trips lately. Today we went to the Norfolk side of the HRBT and took a few casts during the flood tide using 3 inch storms and 4 inch Zoom Flukes. I found one Gray Trout before turning the rod over to my first mate. Well I would work the lure and turn the rod over to him when I hooked up(he doesn't know its cheating yet

). He ended up reeling in another Gray, three Bluefish (alot of chewed up lures), and two Speckled Trout-biggest being 18 inches. Great action in my book and back at the ramp I ask him "did you have a good time?" he says, "yep! but I didn't catch a Flounder." Four years old, and the kid is spoiled.
One proud dad,
Alex

Yup, that's how it all starts, my Dad's already got my two nephews crazy over fishing. Glad to see things getting passed on.

Congrats on a fun day. Father and son fishing time is the best! I'm heading to Bass Pro after work to get my son a nice rod and reel for his 8th birthday, he's already eat up with it and I love it.

It's an addiction, that's for sure!
I caught a 4 lb smallmouth bass on a nightcrawler using a Zebco 202 when I was 3 yrs old. Who got hooked worse, me or the fish?
I passed on my bad habit to my daughter when she was 4 yrs old. She brought in a 12 lb bonito (little tuna) while we were trolling Stretch 25s (she was watching Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs and eating crackers until we hooked up). She couldn't get the rod out of the holder but she kept cranking on the reel until I got the fish in the net. She's 9 now and she wants to catch a shark, a big tuna and, of course, a marlin.
