We didnt fish the BMO, but decided to overnight Fri. Headed out around 6am Friday, lines in the water around 830 in 45 fathoms. 5 min into trolling, had the first white on. Pretty steady action all day, before I knew it it was 3pm and we had released 7 whites. I think at that point we were 7/12 on whites and had a few bailers in the box. Trolled for a little while longer with no action, so headed to the south wall of the canyon to set up our drift for the night. Put out a few squid, glow light, etc and sat down for a nice steak dinner with beatiful calm seas. No action all night, had one sword swim by the glow stick, but was just window shopping. Got up Sat morning around 5am and started trolling again. Our drift had put us south of the canyon, and the seas had picked up as forecasted. it was interesting to see that the entire OC fleet had run down to get on the awsome white bite from Friday. Bite slowed down, we ended up going 2/5 on whites Sat, and had 2 tuna, one around 30" and a nice one that went 68lbs on our scales, might have been citation on the true scales, but we decided to bleed and gut the fish instead of going for the scratch. Picked up around 3pm to head in. Total for the trip was 9 whites, 2 tuna and a handfull of bailers. Great trip, I think it was the most whites we have ever seen. Going again Monday to see if they are still around. I got more video if I can coax Bob into doing his thing(hint).
