Tried to post this earlier, but my account was screwed up somehow. Seems to be working now..
Anyhow - made the run out to the fingers on monday with Beawolf (my son). Ran into a NE wind which made for a bumpy ride and took a while to get out there. Started fishing at around 7:30 and started catching YFT immediately. Couldn't get all the lines in our spread out before we had fish on. Kept up like this all morning. Fish were in the 21-25 lb range. Also caught several large chomper blues. Green Machine, anything else green, and red and white cedar plug was working. Caught nothing on ballyhoo. Water temp was around 73 degrees.
Ran out with one other boat, but he kept going. Must have gone out to the canyon. Other than that, saw one boat on the horizon - but had the place to ourselves.
It was one of those days. We headed back in around 1:00 but it was one of the better off-shore days we have had......
