Saw a short window today and Captain Todd Beck had some friends over from Britain who wanted one more offshore fix before heading home tomorrow...so...I said what the hell and we went for it....Gorgeous ride out, slick calm conditions for our run to the sliver of water around the 420 line...I had wire rigged up everwhere hoping for a Wahoo bite but of course while setting the spread a billfish hits the right short (Wire) and takes a few wraps off the spool of the 50 wide....he jumped once, big fish...think it was a blue but never saw the dorsal so not sure but he spit the hook right quick....finish putting the spread out and had a couple more billfish mess with us, so out with the wire, out go the TLD's and get a white in the spread right away...Bill (British invasion) drops back and hooks up with his first White Marlin.....Great fight and we get the release.......Bill is happy....continue fishing....a group of small Mahi come screaming through the spread and we get a couple of them in the box....two more encounters with billfish but nothing comes tight....

about 1130 wind kicks up to about 25 knots and makes fishing very miserable...so with Bill's White Marlin release in the books we call it a day and start the long ass ride home with SW 25 - 30 to make life a little bumpy for the ride in.....

Great day....Don's got some pictures whenever he gets time to post them....

They're still out there so get out there while the getting is good.....Bob

Bob and the Still Think'n crew thank you for getting our Limey friends offshore. They could not belive how nice an open boat ran in rough seas. Quality always.

That window sure was a small one....like the kind on a doggie door. Good trip and the mission was a success. It was a long ride in with that small chop we had blowing at 25 made for a fun ride.

thanks for going with me Mark Don and brits.....I like a crew that isn't "scared" or maybe just as dumb as me !....and a few rules when running in the slop...

1. Don't every say Thanks for keeping me dry bob....that will result in instant wave breaking over the side soaking everyone
2. When trying to drink an adult beverage in 5 - 7 with 25 kt winds..be prepared for a little salt in the brew !
3. Don't ever say I think it's laying down, because just when you do, the Atlantic ocean will jump up and remind you that she's still in charge !

...Fun trip and You can't catch em at the dock....Bob
Here We Go
Trax changed to Thursday since it's going to blow up again Friday evening....Dang it, I got work comittments Thursday!

Thanks for the invite Dave but I have filled my work schedule out for tomorrow since I knew I wasn't on a boat. Sunday I have committed to inshore with Glenn (Persistence)
