well...we heard about the great bite on Friday at the triple 0's so I gathered up some soldiers and we left Rudee Inlet at 0500 this morning...Had Don, Captain Todd Beck, Scott (SEB) and Danny, (Scott's mate).....got to the spot I wanted and put lines out....water was not what I was looking for so we started heading north....we found a 73 - 76 degree break right around the 040 in 150 fathoms and started thinking it was gonna be on....had a Tuna Spread out with 4 spreader bars and various other enticing baits.....

First hit come on the Tiki Bar with a Shooter....fish comes tight and Don's on the rod....oh no, not another White Marlin !!!...sheesh...he stayed hooked about 3 minutes and came unglued...oh well...I've given all my White Marlin Flags away anyways !!>.

get spread out again and yup, another white on the left short...tight for a couple minutes and gone.....

get spread out again and yup....Another white slashing through the baits...WTF over....I'm here to catch Tuna....

Finally we get a good mark and BAM, 4 rods go down and start screaming drag...TUNA Bite.....only one stays tight and we stick him....TUna Blood on the deck finally after a month and a half of no tuna.....

spread out and BAM..Planer rod trips and is tight for a sec and then goes limp......pulled line in and the Snap Swivel had Broken..don't know how that happened....

slow for most of the day ...we get another Tuna tight be he gets wrapped up in the braided lie of the planer and is gone.....

we caugh the only YFT out there today that I know of.....heard Canyon Express got 2 Wahoo at the end of the day behind the Cigar and Matador had some Mahi, but that was all we know of.....

At least you got some action out there Bob- better than work for sure! Is that YFT missing some belly meat on the other side? No sushi on the return trip? What kind of bare bones trips are you running, anyway? The next thing you know, you'll be cutting back on beer! Well, maybe not....

Nice work Bob, glad you had a pretty day as well. One day soon we'll be able to set the spread for Tuna and catch Tuna...been awhile.

Thanks again Bob for letting me join you for another great fishing adventure. I had a great time and Danny did too even though he was a little occupied for the first half of the trip. Hope to join you again in the future.

Good Talking to you yeaterday! Glad someone is catching Tuna, we had a Barracuda and 1 white at least we didn't get skunked. We were pulling the waaaaaaaaay back line in the bird was in our hands and the Grreen Machine that had a 8" leader was still in the water. This White explodes out of the water and nails the Green Machine 8' behind the boat! What a sight. Good thing Bruce didn't have the line wraped around his hand when this happened. Good job with the tuna! There's always next week!
