Well went out at 1 am this morning and fished it hard til 6 am. Things where not producing(except for a couple shorties) for about the first 3 hours. Fished from the small boat channel to the third island casting. Started getting a little discouraged and decided to give the small boat channel another try and good thing! The schoolies where thick as molassis and birds everywhere. Cought our limit, largest was 23" and all where caught on green 5" wind cheaters. All in all it turned out to be a good morning. Go get em!

Nice going. I'm having fishing withdrawal! Haven't fished since July!! And it hurts!!! I'm glad somebody is fishing.

Hey can some one tell me and preferably show me what a wind cheater is? i honestly have no clue what they are or what they look like lol. any help would be greatly appreciated. We were planning on going out 2day butwork came up and we were having a slow week to begin with so we took the job regretfully, gotta pay for fishing some how lol. Were still planning on going out on sunday and hopefully he fish are still biting in the small boat channel.

Here ya go! Google is a great search engine..... Now go get some and get to catching. Better yet contact Mark at Voodoo. He has some baits that are very similar to the wind cheater and not the brand name price.

oh so wind cheaters are basicaly like small stretches. Thanks for the pic and ill probly buy some from voodoo. Cant w8 to go out this weekend.

Tried to live bait some flounder around the 2nd island today, nothing but lost spot and croaker. Bluefish cut us up pretty bad and of course when we put on the jigs they were no where to be found. Wind was kicking out of the south pretty hard by the time we left. Saw a couple people catch a few schoolie sized striper, and a few tog. I know everyone's got striper fever but anyone found any flounder this week?

Where is the small boat channel? was out at all the islands today but am unsure where the channel is where you were catching the fish. Thanks.

The small boat channel is between the beach and first island. You cant miss it, Its lit up with green and red lights.

There are actually 2 SBC's between shore and the 1st. They are obvious at night but you have to look during the day for the unlit marker lights.
