Went out to the CBBT friday to fish for tog. Got out to the 3rd and teh current was ripping about 5kts. Decided to cast at the rocks for rocks, on the way to the forth island I found about 40ft of 3 inch rope floating in the tide break. We decided to get it out of the water, and put it on the bow of the boat to get it out of the way. (anyone want it?)
Anyway, made a lap around the 4th, nada, made a half lap around the 3rd and got one fish. Current slacked some so we set up on the piles at the back of the 3rd, still more current than we wanted, but we waited. After a few hours it slacked enough for us to get set where we wanted and we caught 3 tog in short time. When the current went total slack we went to reset again, and the shift cable broke!! Of course it broke in reverese, so after messing around for a few min I did a acrobatic headstand on my swim platform and reached down and just got a set of vise grips on the broken cable and after 4 attempts pushed it into forward.
Cranked the boat in gear and headed to the barn.
