Started out at the Hot Dog picked up a 15 lb Bull Dolphin right off the Bat.Trolled around with not Much luck so we headed to the Fingers where we picked up two small 20lb BlueFin and another Dolphin. The bite never picked up so we headed to the Norfolk Canyon a few boats caught some White Marlin so we switched from Cedar Plugs to Hoos. No luck with the Billfish so after a hour or so we headed back towards the Fingers where we hooked up and Released a 100lb Class Bluefin. We had to release it because we already killed our Fish of the day. That was at 4pm to 430 at the same time we hooked up we heard some other boats on the VHF saying they also had some large fish on.We had our spot all to our selves no boats around us .After we reorganized the pile of rods and picked up all the stuff we had tossed around the boat we managed to pick up a 15lb King on the planer Spoon. This report is written by a tired Zombie so excuse the run on.There are some huge Bluefin that have showed up around the Fingers. We were Trolling about 9.5 Knots and covered alot of area today the Fingers area was teaming with marine life today,Whales ,Sharks ,Bottle Nose Dolphin, loads of Baitfish .We saw Turtles everywhere so look out if you head out that way.

yea we were out there today also. Underway at 0500 from Taylors Landing....Trolled Ballyhoo, Plugs, Wahoo Bullett.
Had a large Tuna on at one point during the day and WHAM, something takes it and the line (80Lb brand new Momoi) line breaks (not even at any knots !) believe it was a large Billfish....but who knows right.
Ended up with a nice BlueFin off the Hot dog and while running back in ran into a HUGE school baitfish, they were everywhere but showed nothing eating them. Trolled through them for a while and ended up picking up a really nice Bigeye Tuna, great way to end the day.......Bob...Still Think'n

Good job guys!! Two good reports...how about a slow report! We (me and Mike on Rockin' Robin and a former co-worker) headed to the Hot Dog. Had everything out in the spread, spreader bars, chains, cedar plugs, skirted hoos. Had a knock down on the plug off the flat. Reset it and then hooked up on it. Landed and boxed a Bluefin. trolled there for a while more then trolled towards the 21 Finger. Picked up a 33" bluefish. Ran back to the dog and saw slicks and bait busting the surface. Marked tons of bait. Trolled around and had a hit on the cedar again that busted off at the factory crimp (Note: crimp your own stuff!!). Heard a Capt have 5 on at one time and landed 4 (released Bluefin). Called it and ran home.
Finall toll...1 bluefin and 1 bluefish. Let's call it ..paying dues!! We can say we got our limit!!
Again...good job Mega, bobdu11!!

One thing that was frustrating yesterday was a ton of Large boards floating around the Hot Dog area. We chunked all those boards and didn't see anything. They were perfect hiding spots for a dolphin or two.
I hear a Carolina Sank out there early in the morning on the run out. Apparently they were running with a group of people and were all picked up by the other boats. Man, talk about a bad way to start the day......Bob

This was a Carolina skiff for sure around the Dog. Bottom as flat as could be. I know the guys on the Polar and they are hard core too!! They said they fished around the Fingers. They striper fish in that on the coldest of days with no protection what so ever!!!

Heard some of you out there but didn't have anything useful to add to the chatter. @ 7:15 dropped east of the 22f finger in 30 fathoms and had 2 YF's in the box by 7:45. 25lb on a b/w jr islander and 45lb on the bird/gm. Then a shark the size of my Pontiac crossed astern behind the flats and the bite ended. Spent the next 2 searching, then ran to the hot dog. Released one and boxed one - bird/gm and b/w billy witch.

Frank R. got the 100lber on Black cedar plug chain. The two Dolphin hit Red and White cedar plugs. One of the Small Bluefin hit a natural Cedar plug chain and the other hit a 3 1/2 " Drone Spoon 50 feet behind a planer. The King hit The Spoon Planer rig also. The Blue Fish hit the Spreader Bar/Green Machine on the Shotgun.I turned the VHF off when the two boats started argueing and cussing each other out at the fingers.
