I was going to try to get out and catch some of those Spanish and keep some to rig for offshore. What I was wondering was should I rig them and then freeze or freeze, thaw and then rig the night before/morning of an offshore trip? I didn't know if freezing mono would do any damage like reduce its breaking strength. Hope you guys/gals with experience can offer some help.
Thanks in advance!

Ballyhoos are great bait. Macks are usually run off the flat line with an islander infront of it for marlin. You could use a big horse ballyhoo, too, but I think macks hold up better. I know a charter capt that keeps a mack ready to go as a pitch bait if Mr. Blue Marlin come into the spread.

I use one in the shotgun WTFB behind a Bird or Spreaderbar for Mr Blue.We did it last year several times with out any luck but you never know. The Mullet work great also .I do a bridal rig on large baits like albecore,Spanish they swim better and its an easy way to do it.
