Fin Stoked
Fished live bunker with chum off Sandbridge. Caught many sharks, had cobia in and out of the chum line sniffing baits with no takers. Had a hard time finding Menhaden in the morning. Had a friend come into Owl's Creek when I was pulling out who caught 2 Cobia while buoy hopping. Had blue water 1 mile off Sandbridge.
BEACH
Saw you out there was considering paddling out to you but decided against it due to the wind and bumpy conditions...you were anchored up south of the pier werent you?
Fin Stoked
I was north of the pier about 1.5 miles out. I have a center console with a black hull, t-top w/riggers. I did see a boat south of the pier anchored up. Wonder how they did?
BEACH
saw you too...

My husband and I got to Taylors Landing at around 8:00 AM to head out to the Sandbridge area to try our hand at catching some King Mackerel.........Taylor's had no gas, so we headed to the other dry storage area (can't remember the name). We decided we also needed to add some oil for the engines and had a slight misshap with the filler and the oil overflowed all over the boat. We finally made it out of Little Creek at around 10:00 AM and headed south. dry.gif It was a beautiful ride out, smooth with little wind. Our goal was to start fishing near False Cape. We had six lines out two drones with planers directly behind the boat. Pink sea witches with ballyhoo on the outriggers........Got one hit on the drone just off of the Sandbridge pier. Looked like a baby King??. Reset the rod and about five minutes later the drone got hit again - small mackerel. We decided to head southeast toward the 4A Buoy. Trolled between 1200 - 1500 RPM. Water was a beautiful blue and we were still close to shore!! No more hits the rest of the day!!! Decided to head back in about 2:30 PM - looked like thunderstorms were on their way. About halfway home we hear this crash, bam!! The downrigger snapped off mid way and was dangling half in and half out of the boat (we just purchased a used 25' - 1990 Kencraft Challenger). We got that squared away finally and went home!! Saw lots of fish jumping around Cape Henry but decided not to stop...........all in all, it was a good day - we just wanted to catch some fish!!! We got back in just before the thunderstorm started. Anyone out there have any pointers they would like to share about King Mackerel fishing in this area? Should we have stayed closer to the beach?
fin fever
we got a therty five pounder at franks place
BLACK ADDER
I thought the "BAM" was being struck by lightning!!! I guess it was just metal fatigue, huh?By the way, I was going to do the same thing Saturday, but ended up flounder fishing and started trolling spoons and stuff after the wind got up.I think the deal MAY be to be on station at Sandbridge early.

Myself and a couple of other boats are talking about line baiting on this Sat. if the weather is good and we can find some bait, looking at firming up plan's on Thur. afternoon Fri. morning, I think more boats fishing this large area may help finding the bite. I need a 05 KING (big would be better.

I patrolled the area today, checked all the Buoys in town. The only one we saw was a quick passer by.The water was 76Deg. and clear as Gin.There were some rollers out there today, combined with the storms we left early.
