I need your help and input on a matter that has me wondering.i am going to buy a boat within 3 months,I have it narrowed down to a polar and a kencraft.i don't plan on going offshore very far maybe 30 miles or so on good days,I am mainly going to stay from windmill point south in the bay.Which boat would I be better off buying.I like the storage the polar has versus the little the kencraft has. They are both fairly deep boats which will be good during striper season, any help would be appreciated

I fish a 2004 Kencraft 21' CC fully loaded. This boat has plenty of storage and has very deep hull for its size. It has 90 gallon fuel tank which gives me great range for fishing out of Rudee Inlet. I can fish this boat when it's rough as a corn cob out there. Go for the Kencraft.

We used to have a friend we fished with all of the time who had a 21' Kencraft......great bay boat. Because we thought so much of this boat, we purchased a 1990 25' CC Kencraft. We are very impressed with it - handles any type of sea very well.......... It also has a 90 gallon tank. If we ever decide to repower with the new type motors we will certainly get a lot better mileage as a result. We're with Fin Stoked - Kencraft all the way!

Go with the Kencraft. I have 215 (1988) and it is a tough boat.

I have an '05 Kencraft 22 walk around. It's the same hull as the 21 CC, but with a cabin and bow pulpit. It is extemely sensitive to trim angle and has to run bow-down to keep from porpoising. Other than that, I love the boat. The factory is in Wilson NC, right off I-95. I picked the boat up directly from them. They are really nice people and if you ever have any problems, the factory is not far away. (150 miles). Polars are nice boats but seem pricey. Plus, I like the "Carolina" lines of the locally made boats. My Kencraft is built like a tank and the price was right. I ended up buying it through an out of town dealership and saved TONS of money over what the local dealer wanted. If you go Kencraft, I suggest you call around. There are several dealerships within a 150 miles radius of us. Go to their websit for the addresses and #'s.

He's right about shoping around. I picked mine up from a dealer in Richmond VA. Saved me 5G's for the same package. This guy was a new dealer and was passing through his rebates from Kencraft at the time which was a portion of the savings.

Polar is working on a 25 wa that if its as nice as the redesigned 23 wa I would of bought one if they had it out a couple of years ago.
