mine is striper
skinnys-kid
I'd go with striper, too. I have been able to go after those bluefin in the winter, but may be this year will be different. I had a dream last night I was catching giant bluefin out of the surf!! Thats what I get for eating before I go to bed. blink.gif

My dream was that while a dairy queen was being destroyed I ran in and made one last dip cone.

I would definitly go with Striper.

I am kind of wondering why I have not heard more posting on striper season comming up?

I looked at post from this time last year and there were literally forum after forum posted.

Im going to NC this weekend to kick off the Albemarle Sound Management Area Striper season.

Maybe everyone will stay home this year because of gas prices. That would be great for me and my kayak.

I've gotta go with the stripers. I love being the hero when my buddies all hook up with big fish. Nothing beats having a boat load of kids/girls/drunks all say "thats the biggest fish I've ever caught!"

Mince is cod. Whiting and ling are second choice.

Problem: Catching them in any quantity in Virginia.

So, I guess maybe after soem thought seabass would be my choice for Virginia.

You`ve got big go-nads to messing around in the bay waters in a kayak with all the nut cases out chasing strippers and mostly not paying attention to really what they are doing.. I`m sure that almost everyone has seen them..All you have to do is watch, and these nuts will reveal themselves..And the majority of the time, "The
Man" is no-where to be found. For this reason, I try not fish weekends.. And they drive and tow their rigs the same way.. So be careful out there..I`m sure I speak for all of us that have the experience to know better. I`d much rather bring everyone back in one piece than risk jousting with one of thoese morons!!!! It just ain`t worth it. Full Coolers TO Ya!!!! By the way, my favorite winter fish is the ones that bite!!!!!!

I don't reveal myself too often once december rolls around, just toooo cold!! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif We share the same winter fav fish, and the enemy is the common one. Those aerosol signal horns are worth their weight in tackle when somebody tries to hit your stern a little too close. Cheers!
Mega Bite
My favorite wintertime fish is Tarpon in some Tropical Place.
