Offshore fishing has been a tough proposition this week and it looks like the forecast for windy and rough conditions will prevail into late this week. A report came in from one boat that beat it's way out to the Washington Canyon on Monday and came back with 10 yellowfin tuna. This prolonged blow could very well tend to scatter the fish that are out there, especially the dolphin, wahoo and marlin. It will be the task of the boats that do head out this weekend to locate the fish wherever they may be. There is surely a lot of yellowfin tuna and good numbers of bluefin and bigeye tuna out there.
The last word from the boats fishing the near shore wrecks before last weeks windy weather was improving sea bass fishing. Apparently the sea bass fishing took a turn for the better and catches were up on most all of the boats. A few big flounder were also caught near many of the wreck sites and several boats scored big on croakers on the return trip to Ocean City.
