Spent the day speck fishing in Lynnhaven. Caught undersized fish everywhere. Had two keepers (one was a nice fish) and lost two keepers at the boat. On the way in decided to stop along The Ditch and bottom bounce for spot. They weren't buying off on my Fish Bites. Everyone around me was using bloodworms and catching lots of BIG fish. I caught one before I had to leave but it was 13 inches (1 lb. even). I think that's a release citation but I'm not too much into releasing a 1 lb. spot. He's part of tonight's dinner. Dr. Wright spent the day there spot fishing and looked to be making a haul as were several others. It was windy AGAIN...lot's of SW.

A FRIEND OF MINE USED FISH BITES IN HIS FAVORITE 'SPOT' HONEY HOLE AND CAUGHT ONE FISH. WENT BACK AND GOT SOME REAL BLOODWORMS (ABOUT 30 MIN.) AND LOADED UP THE BOAT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, FISH BITES...BITE!

I aggree and disagree, I went out this past weekend and took some of those fishbites and I figured I would put them on my little 5 year olds rod and it would keep him busy. He was steady catching fish and I barely had time to throw anything in to fish with. They were no mosters but if you are just looking to catch some fish they will catch some fish. Fish Bites vs. Live bait, no doubt go with the live bait.

Last year we fished the ditch and caught a nice mess of spot. Just as a test we put a shrimp fishbite on one hook and a real bloodworm on the other. It was about 50/50 on the baits. Fished from the wall on Sunday and got three small spot on the bloodworm fishbite. Not great, but I didn't see anyone else catching spot.
