Fished the CBBT on Mon. night from 730 to 9pm. The bite was slow but we managed 9 striper between 3 of us. Sizes were between 24" and 30", with two less than 22". Atleast we found a little bit of pullage. Cant wait for the big ones to come in.

Overtime,
It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong...sometimes your catching and the other times you're fishing. You'll get 'em next time!!! By the way, seagull season hasn't opened yet.
TT,
Congrats on your fish!! I can't wait for the big ones either!!

Try casting up current and let your bait sink deeper while the current is taking your bait to the designated area.Cast to the eddy area behind the bridge pilings and let your bait drop to the bottom. the 1 1/2oz. bucktails they sink better.A lot of times Striper are down deeper than you think.

get yourself some "fresh" menhaden and chunk them, use a three way rig with an 8/0 octopus hook and send it to the bottom. there are some decent ones there and most of the ones on the surface are the little schoolies. I caught a 13 lber at the small boat channel the other night on fresh menhaden. when I cut him open he had chunks in his belly.

Definately agree with Mega Bite, I do the same thing but a three ounce lead head with a 6" shad. All the fish we found were hangging right on the bottom.
Went out again last night from 930 to 1130pm and caught 9 between 3 of us all between 23 and 27".

thanks you guys getting my confidence level back up I normally wait till nov to start with strippers but i have an itch right now . I gotta question if i go out in the morning say 7 at the 2cnd do you think ill have a better chance than at night. also you guys said use minhaden is that normally a night day or anytime thing and would it be like drum fishing normally i cut in chunks sit and wait anchord up is that the same idea close to the bridge sitting and waiting . it sounds to me to be a good idea cause then i could cast with the other poles while waiting for the bigguns at the bottom.

I would wait for some larger fish to show up before you get the Cutting board out, that seems like alot of work for the dinks.Striper will readily hit lures if you get down to them.

That itch doesn't have anything to do with a lap dance, does it?

Sorry, I couldn't resist...

If you want to read an article on chunking locally pick up the Chesapeake Angler Magazine October issue and read Chunking at the Monitor Merrimac by Max King, it tells you everything
