Even though I was going to get live spot, I decided not to at the last min.

went for rocks

Threw every artificial lure I had, Storms, rattle traps, buck tails. windcheaters, etc.

Nada, only one blue made it to the boat before chewing my line in half and taking my rattle trap with him.

We fished 1st-4th island. Rocks, tube, bridge everything.

On the radio the only thing I heard was "we got a few, and on live spot".

Maybe they fed to well on the full moon?

Did anyone catch rocks?

Ill try again this weekend, maybe at night.

Was out there on the 19th. Tip of the 3rd Island... caught alot of fish on Windcheaters, the biggest was only 22". Most were all under 20" and all pretty much right in the rocks. Tide came in, covered the rocks and bite slowed or I was just to skittish to get close enough to the rocks in the dark.

Went deep to bottom with a Hopkins and had two hook ups in 10 minutes. One Rock, the kind with coral on it, and another Rock that broke off right at the boat -- look to be around 28-30" so would have probably been a throw back anyway.

Only lasted 10 minutes because VA Beach Marine Police showed up and informed me in the way of a ticket that one of my running lights was out--it was working earlier and had an extra bulb right there but the ticket was already written. He also, ask how much I had been drinking and I politely and honestly informed him close to a 6 or 7 -- but Ah Ha! Thats what I got her for -- it's her boat anyways -- she drives. Guess they automatically assume its only the guys that own, maintain, drive, and fish the boats. I wasnt a smart ass or anything -- however, he still didnt like the fact I ruined a BUI charge for him and said I needed to head back in to change the light -- don't know about all that being right or wrong but I didn't want to piss em off.

Made it out last night (19th) and fished around the first from 930 to 1130pm. Caught 9 between 23" and 27". Bite was definately slow but they were around, pulled all of them off the bottom.
Not to long before it will really pick up....

Good Luck

yea i went out on the 19th and was between the 2nd and 3d island in the middle of both bridges when i found a massive school of rock ( that wasnt moving at all which i thought was odd) so i droped down a 4 ounce bucktail and cuaght my first rock of the season but i didnt catch any more so i left to the 3d and 4th and found some blues about 16-18 inches and then left

Fished the CBBT the 18th, from Chicks Beach to the third---I am affraid my report sounds like a carbon copy of some of the rest. Didn`t do squat!!!!!!!!!!
Was mostly wire-lining but did some chunking around the tubes. Caught one throw back flattie. Water was no Mill Pond, but fished anyway..That dredge that wasn`t suppose to be leaking was sure stinking up Lyn. Started into Lyn. to try for some
spot but couldn`t get past the smell, passed it up and searched a few places off Ocean View..No spot this day. I wish I had a better report but this is it!!!!!!
Must be the "Lock Jaw" Gods at work.

I took two buddies out wed that had never fished before hoping to show them a good time. All we ended up showing them was half storm minnows courtesy of a lot of blues at the surface and one 26 inch striper that we threw back because the sores on his side. Im sure they had fun but I always hate failing as a host. I just think it was one of those nights. We saw plenty of fish at the surface and on the finder, but noone was hungry. I have a feeling most of what we were seeing were blues anyways. There will always be better nights though!
