Good question Charlie- hopefully they will be along- im certain Gary- "Knot Working" will be in- hopefully "Capn Pete" on Disturbed will fish his 20, - I have put flyers in most of the tackle shops around town and even looking to put some on boats that I know are around but dont know the owners. At LBP "Tie one on" i placed a flyer on his pretty 23, there is another 23 cuddy with twins on it that I need to contact and then another sea-foam green 23 inboard at the city marina. Im certain Fred Tyler will fish to defend his crown as will Graham "Doghouse 4 x 4". If anyone knows how to get ahold of Jimmy Kolb , i would think he might want to fish it as well. So thats six confirmed so far with a month to recruit more. I am working on a guy from NJ also and its possible he might be towing his boat down. Thats about the tally so far...........- you know anyone up where you live??? I know of at least 1 , maybe 2 guys in Fredricksberg that I will try and contact. Talk to you later- craig smile.gif

VBSF- anyway we can get this thread pinned??
wirelineCBBT
no kidding there are SEACRAFT boats at every boat ramp every day
Mega Bite
Craig I have 2 neighbors with SeaCrafts one is a Center console and the other is an old Cuddy Cabin Tsunami ? I think it was called? I heard they only produced about 75 hulls in that version? Also Racin just bought a SeaCraft ,Jason has his # or I will get it the next time I see him. That guy is funny!

I b-mailed Racn a couple of times but he has not responded, not sure why, - I have been trying to think who on the island i know that have seacrafts- the tsunami name had to be changed to Sceptre because of another boat company at the time with the name. dont remember what year off the top of my head and there were small changes done inside to the boats over the following years but the hull stayed the same. see ya- craig

Craig,
My friend (Cecil) has a Sea Craft and is interested in the tourney. I think he keeps his boat just down from yours, he has a 2000 20' outboard-dark blue with black under paint and curtains during the winter. If you have an extra form on you, drop one in his boat. Thanks!

Hi Charlie- i dropped off a couple of more fliers yesterday and have some maybes, boats being worked on etc. Right now i think i have a pool of about 20 boats with only about 10 confirmed to be in- im ready to fish- i sure hope we are all still fishing this tournament 15 years from now!!! my boat will be like what 43?lol
Mega Bite
I might be fishing blind in the SeaCraft Tournament my Garmin 2010c froze up on me the other day.I had to UPS it back to the factory.I guess The Triangle Trip in 6 to 7 foot seas finally pounded it out.I cant really complain I got it in 03 it had 10,700 NM logged on it and over 1200 hours running time. They said they would fix it for 300 dollars no matter what the problem.I guess that is how much the units cost them to make.
o2bfshn
The red seacraft that Jason posted the pic of is mine. Still doing a bit of cleaning up on it and messing with the elect. winch. So don't know if I'll get it in the water any more this year. But then who knows maybe I'll join you guys.
Mega Bite
Thats a nice looking boat, make sure your transom is solid before you go out in cold water.Im sure the boat is fine but better safe than sorry. Those old potter built Seacrafts are really well built boats but they did use wood. Your stringers and Transom should be surveyed by a professional before you go out in 55 Deg water.
o2bfshn
I talked with two guys that owned and did the restoration work with the. Both engs. and outdrive are less than 4 years old. Both have done restoration work before and they both told me that transom was still solid as ever, one of the best they have seen. You may one or both of these guys but dont wanna put names on here but drop me a line and I'll tell ya. The one has restored other seacraft that are here in VA.Bch area right now. But still thanx for the info on getting it checked this being my first boat still learning things. Maybe get with you and gigolot see what you guys think. I have fished with him a couple of times.

Your brother has fished on my boat if Im not misteaken.
o2bfshn
yea he said he had fished with you. I had talked to Jason a couple of times after reading some of your stuff. I did more spearfishing this past summer than rod and reel. Just spades out at the tower, lots of nice 23+ inch ones under the schools of small ones. Seen some really nice AJ out there too in July. I never knew the Barracuda came up here though. I comm. fish with a guy in Key West when I was down there. Thats a whole different thing being hook and line for everything. no traps. long line or gill nets there.
Cool Breeze
real nice ride o2- i looked at your boat for someone in Newport News a few days before you picked it up. Have you run it yet??? she oughta fly!!!!! Looked real nice- love to have ya for the tournament- but no pressure- good lord willing we plan on doing it again next year too. the big fish are showing up now so hopefully it will be smokin here in a couple of weeks!!!! smile.gif craig
Cool Breeze
BTT- i have now received some giveaways from "Frenzie" lures from Capn Brad- (seacraft owner) and "Superbowl Rigging Lids". Some good stuff too!!!! Charlie, if you or Keith have any of those ticket things or depending on the number of boats I will just make up some captains bags with the free stuff? I have agreed to use their logo's on our banner. NBD. Also I have ordered the trophies and they will be ready next week. The bigger class of fish are starting to be caught fairly regularly and should only be better come tourny time !!!!! Pray for good weather!!! Thanks again to Long Bay Pointe Marina for allowing us to hold this gig !!! Peace- craig smile.gif

I think everyone has about the same chance at getting the largest one.I dont feel like I have the advantage over anyone in this tournament, there are some good solid fisherman in this one.
Mega Bite
I have only seen one other Chesapeake boat like yours ever.At a Chesapeake 22 Tournament you would have a 50% chance of winning right off the bat.LOL!
