First of all a big thanks to Jimmy K. and crew. We wouldn't have got what we got with out them. Crew was Berked Fish(Tre), C-Note(Connor), Jim Christ, me and my wife. The plan was to start at the 650 and work south to the warmer water. Well, we put the spread out in sht water and trolled south for about thirty minutes. Called Jimmy cause we knew they were south of us. "I'll get back to you", was his response. Turned to the crew, "Pick em up." Jimmy came back on the horn and confirmed he was crushing. 18 miles later we drop lines. My buddy who followed behind us never got his whole spread in the water. We trolled for about five minutes when all hell broke lose. 5 down, 0 tight. WTF. Changed baits, swung around and 5 down again. This time 4 stick and end up in the box. We never made it back up to speed. Bar goes off just drifting in the blue. 15 minutes, 5 tuna in the box. The next bite was incredible. 4 wind ons cut off in 10 seconds tops. Thank god the new SB is still with us, (it rung up 6 tuna). We were ready to switch to wire but we decided to go with the hot tuna bite and wahoo fish later. It's now 10:15 and we have 12 tuna in the box. It's time to try out the new planer setup. We had it down for about thirty minutes and we see this great slick about 20 feet in diameter. Troll right threw it and 50 yards later, line is being yanked off the reel. I'm on him and I'm not letting him have any slack. Connor's on the leader and Tre's on the gaff. Everything goes to plan and I'm starring at the biggest wahoo I've ever caught. Man was it pretty. (I'm holding it in Jimmy K's post). 45 lbs and a NC citation. I was a proud papa. Best picture of the day was me holding the wahoo with Connor and Tre in the back ground looking up at the rocket launcher as another tuna is ripping off line. (they wouldn't even let us pose). Rounded out the tuna limit by 11:15 and wire fished for the rest of the day. Headed for home at 12:45 with beers being murdered like tunafish. Hope this fishing continues and if it does I'll be plugging in the standup real soon. Hats off to ya JK.
