That is the overnite tuna trips they do in CA and they do them in NJ on head boats. Can you imagine doing a 24 or 48 hour trip on a head boat??
That is some YFT display

Yeh, instead of catching croaker you're catching 100+ pound tuna...that's pretty sweet.

All the tuna I've caught this year would fit in that fish's mouth. Incredible!

Incredible fishing....incredible fish. But, in my opinion they killed too many.

Captain Buddy Trafton a frequent flyer on the Mega Bite is the Captain of the Ocean Venture .This Ship runs from California to Hawaii, they offer limited partnerships or kind of like time share. You pay a price(5000) I think and for the next 5 years you can do several trips a year with the ship. The ship has small 25 foot boats that it lowers into the water to target the huge tuna.World records and IGFA records are recognized because they have sanctioned methods and scales on board. The boat gets to keep the tuna for markets in Japan.Fin Fever is also good friends with Buddy we both night give it a whirl in the near future.

Doesn't that seem like a little overkill.

There is no doubt they are for the Market, the Japanese are waiting at the dock most of the time.
