Spoke with a few boats by radio this morning at CH and off Dam Neck. Lots of bait and no fish in the box. Anyone have any reports from the ocean?

I got a 38 and a 40 at the golf ball, and we lost two others. Pretty slow over all.

Atleast you had some pullage! Did you get them off the bottom or were they caught in the upper water colum?
We fished the Sea Craft Tourney and caught 3 COWS--31 lbs and 25, 26 lbs. All off Cape Henry on a Mojo, Tomic, and Stretch 30. I'll give Donna Sea the honor of filling in the details since he was the Capt. of the winning boat!!!!!!

As NJ1 said, all three fish were caught just off Cape Henry where the demarcation line between the bay and the ocean crosses the thimble channel. It was a fairly slow day - few birds but not in great numbers. The fish were caught one in the morning, one at mid-day and one just before we quit in the afternoon. Beawolf fished with us, and each of us landed one of the fish. This could be the beginning of the season!!
All-in-all it was a great day to be on the water with good fishing buddies.
I need to add a word of thanks to Donna Sea and Beawolf for having me on board. Winning the tournament was nice, but being on the water on a day like today with great guys was worth more than winning the tournament. Thanks to Cool Breeze for his hard work in setting it up (he missed 3rd place by ounces

).
I also enjoyed meeting Mega Bite and Gigolot who could prob. outfish us any other day of the week (just not today somehow

).
And, I almost forgot, I was introduced to the best she-crab soup I have ever had and the delicious BUBBA Burger, which was a delight after a cold day on the water.
Can't wait to do it again!!!!!

I surf fished by the Sandbridge pier. Didn't see anything caught and had no action myself. There were a few birds diving but not a lot. I saw a few boats out there, but they didn't seem to be doing much. Nice day to be fishing anyway!

Great job Donna Sea, NJ, and Beawolf!! We were in that mix up around the channel in the morning and snagged a dink, but nothing else. Had the marks, but figured small fish...guest not. Probably didn't work the area long enough. Great job pulling those cows out.
It was a slow day. The 4 fish we landed down off Sandbridge, we worked for. well worth it. Good to know the bite is turning on!!!
Again, Great job on the tourney!!! Congrats!!

We fished 12 Nm up the Eastern shore, lost one behind the boat had good but spread out marks. Then we fished the 4A area same thing spread out marks. After an hour or so of that we went to the Highrise and Live Eeled the Highrise pilings I lost 2 rigs ,no bites .We saw a group of boats behind the 3rd most of them were channel 79 ers so we headed that way where we picked up one fish.We ended the day back at the 4A area without another fish. The fish are spread out in the bay they havent formed into massive hungry schools yet when they do its going to be lots of fun.The water temps rainged from 49 to 53 Degrees. The coldest water is over on the North side. The water was cloudy everywhere yesterday. We had a glassy ride back to the barn last night .

Keith, how far up on the Eastern Shore did you go? Just curious if you went as far as Cobb Island? Thanks for the report, Dave
