Will be heading out this morning from either Owl creek or Lynhaven. Anybody got any suggestions to where the fish will be? Will be aboard the Reel Nauti-- 27' Robalo Walk. Reply or call me on the radio as any info will be greatly appreciated. First trip out for striper this year.

Thanks Guys,

Well we left the ice at owls creek at 6:30am and headed south to the carolina border. Radio reports of no bite at corrolla so we stopped in some working birds and trolled and waited to here something. Marked tons of bait but no bites and no word on the radio. Headed back north to sandbridge and fished inside and outside 7 menhaden boats again marking tons of bait, but no bite. Headed north again planning to go to CH and decided to stop in a small patch of birds 2 miles due east of rudee. Dropped the lines and down went the left rod. Had a friend on board the reel nauti from West Virginia that had never caught anything but a trout so we told him to grab it. This produced some strange facial expressions and one 34" striper. Trolled the rest of day till 5pm without another strike and headed back in. Only heard of a few fish caught except for one guy on the radio at about 4:30 that ran south of corrolla almost to oregon inlet that ran into a pod of nice fish and limited out up to 38".

P.S. fishwater,
Didn't read your post till today, but passed you twice yesterday trolling.

Hey all,
There are a few snags on the way down there that hold fish but mainly seabass this time of year.
We never made it out that far. We fished the menhaden fleet and ended up with about 6 fish all day. (rockfish)
Most came on tomics and one on a grey ghost stretch 30.
Seemed like the magic speed was 2.5 kts.
I'm new to the site so if you see us out there say hey. I'll be out there sunday and monday.
