Ran South through a light to medium fog this morning.Bumped into a lot of old friends on the water today.I found the Striper between the 2nd and 3rd water towers .Most of the fish were in 30 to 55 feet of water had 1 Quad,3 Triples and several doubles, most fish were 36 inches but a few were 42 inches.I heard of several nice fish being caught. The water was 49.7 Degrees .As soon as I rounded False Cape there was a huge ground swell about 7 to 8 feet but it was spaced wide apart and glassy smooth. The Surfers had an epic day today im sure with the huge south swell. The lure of the day was the Mojo/Chart. Tomic combo. The Storm Umbrella came not far behind.I had so much fun that I Didnt leave until 4 pm and rounded Cape Henry in the dark fog again. The huge swells were fun to quarter on the way home it was almost like surfing with a boat.Saw a huge Humpback Whale feeding on baits about 1.5 miles off the 3rd water tower at about 230 this afternoon.

Thanks for the great report. Gotta like it when the fish are not such a far run south.
Water temp still seems to be up too! Wonder how long that will last. I hope to do a day or two of rockfishing during the next 2 weeks and then hitting some sea bass and tog as well. See ya out there.

Thanks for the heads-up Mega. I'll be going out tomorrow and didn't want to go all the way to OI just to catch some big fish, but I would have since this maybe my last trip of the season.... hoping not, want to go again next weekend, especially since it's a holiday and all.
Thanks again.

Thanks Mega - I closed on the Rampage 12/19/05 after much soul-searching. I decided life is too short not to have a new boat. Man is it fun to fish with a heated helm station.

Big Big difference. Also - the diesels are wonderful. twin C9 Cats. crusies at 29 knots and just lopes along. Cannot wait to get to the Cigar and OOO's. We will now fish ten rods. Maybe I can begin to catch up to you on the fish? I know you do some real damage on the blue water boys!! Hope to meet you on the 19th.

You did really well on them -- my boy Mike Goodloe lucked up on a really big one to beat you out - but yours was awesome too. I have never caught one. I think I am going to try this year, but I am an amature. Need some lessons

Thanks Mega Bite for the great report. Weather permitting we'll give it a shot on Sunday, but only if it's pretty calm. That's a long run for an 18' center console. Someone could really clean up if they built a marina down that way.
Bought a mojo today to go with the daisy chain I made. Working into the big cost items slowly so the wife doesn't have a cow. Next step is an umbrella rig. Where to you guys buy them, or can you make up a rig?
Hope to get some encouraging reports from those who brave out the temps on Saturday.
