Use the 6'' Storms slide some swivels on each loop then you just snap them on.Use a 9" Storm as your trailing bait.Natural,Chartreuse and white are good colors.Clip on a split ring and then a Ballberring swivel to the leading eye that way you can add inline weights.

How Mega described is how I make mine, simple to make and easy to change baits. They have been our hottest bait in the water this year. Good luck!!

How long do you make each of you leaders for the bait and what pound test? Thanks

The trailing bait should be about 14 inches back that would be the only thing with a leader.
i use a 3-4 foot trailer to my 9 in shad, sometimes longer, i think it gets a little more action that way, but that is just me. everyone does it a tad differently. also if the 9 incher has an eye vertical and on the nose i use the vertical one (the one going off the top) as i think they get a little more action that way. this has definately been our hot bait as well. the colors that have worked well for me are the bunker (natural), white and i have done well wit the red headed clear baits from calcutta with a 9 inch red headed clear raibow trout looking thing tsunami trailer. good luck.

I know your question was on unbrella rigs, but something that has worked great for me is to put that 9" Storm (same colors as mentioned in other posts) 15 feet behind the Mojo on 80lb test. I have caught dozens of them on that set-up. Green has been best color.

At what depth will the umbrella rigs run with no weight? Is that depth good for ocean fishing?

Thanks for the info.
depth depends on current, boat speed, and amount of line out.

You have to use an inline sinker a cannon ball sinker wouldnt work unless you did it with a 3 way setup.Thats not the way to go with an umbrella rig.
