Has anyone had any good reports from this area recently? I know it hasn't been hot, to say the least, but I'm looking to go tomorrow and most likely will be in this area. If there was ever a time for the bite to turn on, now would be good...

I haven't heard anything but I'll be in that area tomorrow also. I don't have the fuel capacity to head to far south and the SW winds will keep me from heading north off the Eastern Shore. Last year at this time I was still catching fish at CH.

I fished there Thursday and saw, heard, and caught NOTHING. I asked the same question later that day and heard nothing encouraging. I went down today about 10:00 just to check things out and heard someone say over the radio that nothing was happening. Like you, I don't have the fuel to go far enough south but I think that's where they are. Let us know how you do tomorrow.

Caught one (1) 38" off of Cape Henry today (Saturday), but that was all. I even went all the way down to Sandbridge with no luck. I did here of someone C/R in the upper bay, and he said the fish were heading this way, so they should be here next weekend hopefully.
I did have alot of bait fish around the green can, but fishing was hit and miss all day. I believe the bite turned on around sunset because I heard people saying they were catching them as I was heading in. Hope this helps... great boating day either way.

Went down to the weigh in at Rudee for the Rock Fish Shootout. A 14 year old was leading the tournement at 4:00PM when I was there with a 50# fish onboard the Chesapeake Angler. Did not hear where they were caught but have a notion it was South. Does anyone know anything more? Thinking about going tomorrow if I hear of something/anything Corolla or North of? Any reports, anybody???

I made a decision not to go out today because of the lack of activity. Not going out tomorrow either.
This is not good. I'll save my money to buy gas and go off shore this summer.
Anyone know how the striper fishing was in New England this summer? I'm starting to think we overfished them again.

Donna Sea you might be making the right call. I'm with you, save some gas $ for the summer off shore. I find it hard to run that far for some Rocks, even though I only have about 4 dinners worth in the freezer. Shoot, I have more Cobia in my freezer than Rocks....

I'm really distressed over the whole thing. This is normally my favorite time of the year for fishing.
