I will be heading out of Rudy and south also. I was looking at the slew about 3/4 of a mile off the beach of False Cape. I wrote the numbers down and cses up and down it. I was wondering if anybody else that favors that area has had any luck in that slew ? Otherwise I am just going to throw it out at the first good sign of birds.
Is there still a good swell out there? Talked to someone that talked to the USCG and they mentioned it might be a little difficult to get out of OI tomorrow. Any way good luck to all that try and GiG a LiG will be on ch 68 and 71.

Really hard day untill the last minute. Fished hard all day Corolla light to the second tower. Had one good knockdown on white unbrella felt like a good size fish dont know what happened to the line but the poor fish is swimming around with my unbrella now. Watched people pick one up every once in a while the rest of the afternoon and we could not buy a bite. Getting real late now so we decided to make a quick run to the third tower. About a dozen boats about 2 miles out. we watched other boats catch fish right near us and all we had was 2 hits on a mojo and nothing there after we picked up the rod. Now its really getting late everybody else is gone with about 45 min of light left. Not marking anything no birds no other boats nothing decided to give it a few more minutes and call it a skunk day. Then Bam 1 Mojo rod goes down and bring in a 32" fish. Put Mojo back down maybe catch one more real quick. Then one unbrella goes down start fighting that one then both Mojo's go down. All three of us are into fish and the other unbrella goes down we just left it bouncing till we got the other ones in. While reeling in the last unbrella the long line starts screeming. It was crazy in fifteen minutes we caught 7 fish between 30 and 38 inches. To end the day we released the small one took a couple of pic's and made most of the ride to Rudee in the dark.
It's funny how a few minutes can change a entire day.

I wanted to run further south like you. We wasted alot of time pulling bait at Corolla linght and 2nd tower past.
Girlfriend got tired and we left at 3pm to head to little creek.
We had alittle boat trouble comming in to help me forget the skunk, so today i will be trying to pin down the loud grinding noise.

You should have stayed near the light. We went all day with one fish and then got 3 between 2:00 and 2:45 between the light and first water tower. The last two was a double about a half mile off shore at the light.

We were between the light and 1st tower inshore and caught a couple right on the beach with the whale. We then moved offshore and came up on school of stripers on top with birds on them. The only problem was the fish/birds were about 500 yds. on the east side of the 3 mile line with a coast cutter siting right on us watching every move. We and 6 other boats idled there for 30 minutes until the birds moved right on top of us. We got a 41" out the morass plus on a 34' on spining rod casting into the birds. Coast Guard did not intervene

You'd the man, Ray. Persistence pays off. My report is identical up to the point where you started catching, we called it a day. The nice run back to Lynnhaven at 43 mph was the highlight.

Most of ride back was pretty smooth. The closer we got to Rudee the bigger the swells were. They were'nt really that big but when your carrying a little speed and cant see the bigger ones there really really big. Had to slow down alot for last 10 miles. My buddy said it took us 1hr 20 min to get back so I guess it wasnt to bad.
Eric hope you find the problem quick and it's not major.
