The water temps are 45 degrees unless it drops 6 degrees overnight the Striper should be off our Coast for a while. They fed hard for 4 days straight yesterday wasnt as good but its not over yet,I think we are a month behind with the whole cycle. They are catching some Hawgs down south so the bite could be anywhere from Cape Henry to Corolla .I am going to guess between Damneck and False Cape this upcoming week.If worst comes to worst there is a school of Hawgs The Oregon Inlet fleet has been toying with also.Heck I wouldnt be suprised to see a Beehive off the ES the way things have been going this year.

I live in the middle of the rocks spawning ground. I will let you know when the fish run to fresh water to spawn.
A majority of those striper that come up stream spawn in downtown richmond. and the always spawn after the white perch and herring runs.
I have a feeling that unless some major changes happen these fish wont go far. It is Feb 5 and en less than 60 day they start their north run to spawn and go back in the bay and up the james.
with the water temp the way they are now we are gonna need a 6 to 9 degree drop before the bait moves south and the rocks follow.
heck that is just what i think.
the truth be known, as long as my boat is in the shop you guy will catch fish. the minute that i have it ready to fish they will turn off like a light switch

we were going to launch at kiptopeke and run to cape henry but drove across instead. launch at the end of general booth blvd ramp. all the fish we could handle and every boat we saw limited on 35 to 40 inch fish from 9 to about 2 pm. the tide fish weenies went nuts today with the 50,000 birds 1/4 mile of the beach in 17 foot of water where we got into them
