Mated for my buddy Neal on his boat Dawn Patrol. He took out his Dad, another friend and his 2 boys. Headed south off of Dam Neck and had steady action(fish every 10-15 mins) from 9-11. Fish ranged from a couple of shorties to 36". caught our limit, but kept 5 for the table. Hot baits were, Stretch 30. Blue shad umbrella, and inline storm. Had a chartruse umbrella out that didn't even get touched. The boys had a great time fighting and catching the fish...their first time catching stripers!!
Tons of birds again...close to shore. We were in 23'-30' of water and had good bait marks. Mostly between Dam Neck and the start of Sandbridge.

Great job Don...glad you got some pullage on SUPERBOWL Sunday !!!!!!....Bob
Knot Too Fast
Greta job Don. I thought it would be too rough for the Stingray so I went to Hot ditch and the Cove to try my hand at Specks. Needless to say it was dead (or I have some learning to do). Anyways, the boy and I took a long boat ride to stretch the boats legs and get some fresh air.

We started early Sunday and stopped a little further south than Dam Neck-- 2.9 miles off of False Cape just north of the tthe state line. We were with the Maryland charter boats. There where big fish there, but there was a heavy 4/5 chop and 25 knts of wind off the beach. It was so rough we couldn't get the baits right. We eventually wound up off of the Ramada-- on the outside -- 2.3 miles and out of the boats and got seven nice ones but nothing big. 30 lbs was the best. I think the most consistent bite is now developing late in the afternoon around 4:00pm. We had a couple really good ones late in the day, on a Green Tomic and lost them both. I went as far as Corolla at sunrise and south of False Cape was deader than Elvis.
