When do people start catching trout around the HRBT and Willougby Spit. A long time ago before I had a boat, I would catch some nice trout at Willoughby Spit off the rocks. I can't remember if that was April or May.

I've heard it can be as early as March depending on the conditions. I would guess that the first full moon in April would be a good time to give it a shot. Don't expect alot of success stories, though. You know how tight lipped trout fishermen are.
