Went down with Mike(Rockin Robin), buddy Neal and another buddy Trey and fished on Neals new boat..."Wired Up" Got out Friday in some 4-6 footers and fished around the NC 000's. About a hour after lines in, we get a wahoo bite off on the shotgun, an Islander daisy chain. The wahoo had gone after one of the teaser baits and cut the line like it was nothing. Released and shorty YFT around 9:45 caught on a wahoo lure in the shotgun. A couple of minutes later have the second wahoo bite off...time for some wire!! At 10:30 we get our first keeper YFT in the boat followed by a king mackeral and two double header YFT fights back to back. The best battle came when a wahoo hit a wire rigged flat line and dumped 2/3 of the spool on a 50 before tail-chaffing the line and busting off. That was a big wahoo for sure and wish we could have boated it, but...that's fishing.

Came home because those wounderful Carolina breezes were picking up and making things pretty nasty. Ended up with 4 YFT, biggest was 30 pound class, and a king mackerel. Hot baits were mini spreader bars in pink and also green with ballyhoo rigged trailing baits and green and blue/white seawitches.

We got blown out Saturday, so the cards and beer came out!! We played poker with Necco Waffers!

No beer flags so we flew the can!!

Needless to say..we got tanked!!!

Awesome weekend and more details to be told at the Liars Club!! Looking forward to the next trip!!

Oh yea.. Otter and I slayed em this weekend down in Union South Carolina..they weighed for the most part around 12ounces and came in packs of 12 or 24...you typically had to have green or a plastic type lure to get them.....caught our limit Friday night and Saturday night. No pictures, for some reason we couldn't operate the camera after we had our limit of the 12ouncers...

Bob, We were playing for the bar tab at Howards on Ocracoke(great place..have to go there next time we're down) Mike and I ended up in head-ups action and he won in the end. We re-enacted the scene from Jaws when they're on the Orca sitting around singing "Show me the way to go Home" at Howards..pretty funny stuff!! Just a note to anyone that may venture down to Ocracoke for a little fermented fun...the THE LAST FERRY LEAVES AT MIDNIGHT!!!! The first one in the morning is at 5 am and its a great ride in the dark morning hours...Mike and I learned the hard way!!!! mad.gif

Don, Mike

Good to see you guys got some YFT. I was building a pool deck at a buddies house. Almost as fun action-smiley-034.gif

I think our death defying trip with Bob has tempered your senses, those were bigger than 4-6 more like 6-8 with 10 foot mixed in! We took more than one over the bow and I think that 42 footer was stood up at least once.

Just remember the last ferry leaves at midnight!! Man that sucked.

Oh well back to Ocracoke for last call at the Pelican, cool little bar, check it out!!

A great time was had by all. It was one of those, "what goes on in Hatteras stays in Hatteras" kinda trips. I think I'm still drunk. We spent more on beer than fuel!!

One for the books.
