Look like they increased the dailey harvest limits for angling category for 2006, but the fish have to be bigger. Used to be 1 BFT per vessel 27inches to 73inches

Angling category; 3 BFT per vessel; 01 June 2006 – 31 May 2007; 47 inches to less than 73 inches.

How do you measure a BFT that big?

If it looks bigger than 73 inches don't gaf it?

It's not like you can bring it onboard without a gaf and measure it and say "well it's only 72.5" lets release it".

have a rope marked off with various lengths for different fish....lay the rope in the water next to the fish while you have it leadered to the boat and make your best call at that point based on your rope....that's about all you can do....We have a tail gaff on my boat so we can control the fish without hurting it in case we have to release...if it's legal....it gets the Gaff between the eyes....Bob

Yeah

I was just thinking, man having a giant tuna by the side of the boat and trying to break out the old tape measurer.

Makes me think of the saying involving a monkey and a football.

A grease pencil also works you mark your hull then measure the marks, its definately easier to measure fiberglass than Tuna.
