reboot
Hello my name is Michael wheat and I captain the reboot a 34 foot express fisherman out of rudee Inlet. I learned a ton from this board on the striper season and from Dave at terminator lures for striper season and wanted to thank everyone for all of thier help.
Now I am trying to learn more about the Yellow fin tuna fishing out of our inlet and also wanted to team up with the other t'fers that fish out of rudee to make sure we are safe and have friends going at the same time and same place. I also need some help with learning more about catching yellow fin so i am not to just wander around offshore burning fuel. I do not want to just follow folks for that is a little rude sometimes and annoying. I was wondering if any of the more experienced tuna fisherman would be interested in showing me the ropes on a few trips on me? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Capt,

First thing I would do is to get on the Offshore Buddy boat list. Pmail FISHWATER or Donna Sea and give him your info. When you head out, post that you are going and see who else might be heading out the same day, so you know someone out there.

Places that you'll need to know for catching tuna or most of the offshore fish are:
Hot Dog, The Fingers, Wayne's World, Norfolk Canyon, Cigar, and The Lumps to name a few. Here's a link to Jim Baugh to get GPS numbers for them

For help with rigging, shoot me an email or give me a buzz(757 340-1699) and I'll be more than happy to help you out the rigging and spreads.

It won't be long before the water is warm enough to hold some yellowfin!! Good Luck and look forward to talking with you!!

Mike, there are lots of experienced hands on this site who are willing to help a newcomer. If you post looking for crew the week before you fish, you may find an experienced hand to fish with you and show you first hand how to rig baits and set a pattern, and split expenses as well. The yellowfin usually show up in late May near the Cigar, 65 miles southeast of Rudee. good luck.

You guy's are fantasic. I'm still a new comer to the web site, but the help and advise you give is just great. I hope to meet some of you at one of the meetings, I live in Woodbridge and it's tuff to schedule a trip (work load) to meet at one of the get togethers.

Tight lines to all, and thanks for all the info, help, and advise, and some of the recipes sound great. I plan on using some soon.

Mike
