Planning on heading out to the Tower reef on Saturday. Wife is going to tag along to see if she can handle being "offshore". Should I try fishing for togs? How about any other fish there at this time of year- I know the water is still pretty cold.

What kind of bait is best for bass? I plan on getting some fiddler crabs for the togs.

for seabass you cant beat a box of good ole cheap squid !

The squid is great for the seabass but not if you plan on taking any home. You will get a few keepers but nothing like on the cut bait like Megabite said. Thats where your citations and better fish will come from. It doesn't have to be the boston mackrel but any type of cutbait is great.
