I finally had to take time off and go fishing. We left hatteras around 6ish and headed south to the 950. Cross over a nice break inshore on the way out and continued on. Drop lines in and bam, tuna, decent size around 25-30 lbs. We pick up a gaffer every once in a while and decide to troll back to the break in about 25 fathoms. Bailers cover us up every chance we get to set lines out so we cut up a bonita we caught previous and start bailing. then we decide we want another tuna or two so head out to deeper waters again. I heard of a spotty tuna bite around the 950 but we decided to troll the other way and when we got in 40 fathoms we hook a nice 45lb tuna. afterwards we come across a floating tree and bail some more dolphin from under it. By now we are on the 150 and head in with 2 Yellowfins and 20 or so dolphin some gaffers and some bailers, no wahoos today though.
We watched Citation release a small Blue marlin while we were out there.
I tried to call still think'n when he was beside us to say hey and see how the morning was for him but he didn't answer the radio? Maybe I wasn't getting out.
The weather couldn't have been more perfect for my much needed day off, but now I need to get back to work!
