I was just getting ready to post a report for ho's when my wife asked to go set up on the shoals with me. We set up around 7pm at 9 foot shoals ocean side 14ft of water. Current was ripping at about 2.7 kts and we were using 12 oz to hold bottom in the 62 degree water. Slight chop with a SE wind tapering off through the night to 5-10kts.
Used hard crab, 2 on circle hooks and 2 J-hooks.
Our first run came at 8:30 a 49" black drum. Second run came at 9:15 a nice 48" red that top out my 50lb scale.(crcle hook)
We ended up catching 5 reds all papers and 1 black paper(j-hook). It was a nice steady bite after 9:30 and with just the 2 of us we called it at 10:15 and headed for the barn in calm seas with a bright moon to light the way. That was important because there are nets set up on the shoals so be careful!!!!.

We had 3 peelers from the other night that did'nt even get a run.


Now for the question of the night.

If in the cuddy and you were gettin busy with your wife or girlfriend knockin out a piece and the drag started screaming, would you go answer the screaming drag or keep bangin?

Great report. As for the answer to your question..."if the cuddy's rockin', don't come knockin'," and that includes fish. to resist the temptation, I personally wouldn't have lines out in that situation.
