I fish for sheepshead at Oregon Inlet in June and July. I've never fished for them in the Bay. Is there good fishing for Sheepshead in the Bay? I know the highrise on the CBBT sure looks good! We always use sandfleas for bait and I know any crabs work well, what is the bait of choice in the Bay? biggrin.gif

Personally I've never fished for them much but I know they catch them around the CBBT quite regularly when the water warms. As a matter of fact, the state record was caught from the pier on the 1st island last year.

The bait of choice around here is fiddler crab. I have used hard crab when we were getting low on fiddlers. The best thing is they come to you. We were scooping them off the surface at the 4th island when they swan by. I also use sandfleas. Not to many people around here do though.

Have ya'll seen the GULP sandfleas? I bought some to try this summer. They look tasty to me.

a friend of mone tried them on the boat while we were tog fishing. I told him that if he caught a keeper on it I would eat one myself. He did manage 3 but all were 13-13 3/4. I guess I got lucky huh?
