so bright and early this morning, Jeff, Jimmy, Me and a few others headed out on the Nancy K out of Hatteras Harbor. we hit some large rollers in the inlet but it smoothed out once we hit open water. thankfully the un-forgiving winds from saturday quit blowin! after 10 minutes of having the lines in the water we got hooked up with two dolphin. when we reeled them in, with them came in the bailers (i think thats what we called them), in about 15 minutes we had about 12-15 dolphins on the boat. about an hour later it happend again. after about 30 fish we switched up and headed to a wreck and caught a few king mackerals. the grand total i believe was 36 dolphins and 4 king macks. It was a blast, i got my dolphin and king mack cherrys popped today, along with a few others on our crew! the later in the day it got the flatter the water got, it turned out to be a very nice day. here are a few pics...

i do believe that jeff and jimmy have more pics. other boats caught one yellow fin, a few dolphin, a few king mackeral, and someone got a 60lb cobia. it was a fun day and i thank the crew of the Nancy K for puttin us on to the fish!

Nice job fellas!!! I'm glad you got into the fish and that it calmed down for you. After Jeff called me, we should have gotten our butts up and went out, too. Congrats to you guys...way to go!!

Grill it with your favorite marinade
Captn Fatbeard
Tonight was grilled with mango, pineapple salsa.

Tomorrow i will baste with dijon and encrust then with tortilla chips.

But then again .. fried with some tartar and cold beer ain't bad either.

Thanks for the replies, I'm gonna try the marinade. I don't know how to make a mango, pineapple salsa but it sounds good.

yourock.gif Congratulations, it looks like you hit the mother load. We all should have more days like yours. I'm looking forward to taking my boat down to NC. The only problem is that I'm not familiar with the spots down there and would need either another boat to follow or someone with experience to show me the right spots to fish. If anyone's interested let me know.
