Will be back in town (Va Beach) between 16 and 26 June, and was hoping to make it offshore if anyone will have me aboard their boat. Am out in California now, and I miss fishing offshore VA for YFT!

My experience: fished YFT during Summer 2004 on my boat (often doing it alone), missed the 2005 season due to being deployed (I'm a LCDR in the Navy), and am hungry for some more! I also have a friend that could help: he's also in the Navy, and has extensive offshore crew experience (Texas Gulf Coast - he actually almost beat the TX blue marlin state record!). If you could take just me or both of us, we'd do our share regarding gas money, would be ready to bring gear if you could use it (three offshore rods with Shimano TLD 50, 30 and 25 reels), and could either help crew or just sit there keeping our mouths shut - whatever you'd prefer!

Thanks.

June 24th or 25th might be a possibility. Let me know when we get closer to that time so we can check the weather, sea temps and fishing reports.

We'll see what we can do for ya when it gets closer....If you don't mind have a retired navy Chief Petty Officer yelling at you when the fish start hitting !...lol....Bob

Thanks Buda and Bobdu. Yeah, I remember how making plans for offshore is - I'll let you know closer to the date and as the weather situation becomes more clear. Keep in mind I'll be in town then, so if you've got a date set and could use an extra hand or two, you can write me at salmonbbeer@yahoo.com. I'll keep checkin' it once I am back there.

Bobdu, never had a CPO yell at me that I didn't like! No probs there - fishin' is fishin'!

I only just registered for this forum, but have been fishing this area for over 20 years. I'm always looking for folks to go offshore, especially if you help pay for fuel!! I have Norfolk Canyon range from my home port of Poquoson. I'm also military, retired USAF officer, now a contractor at USJFCOM. Just email me and I'll give you my phone number to get things set up. Also, I'm taking my boat down to Hatteras 24 June - 3 July to fish the Gulf Stream daily if you're interested in that. Email me for more details on that particular trip.
